Marco Metzlaff named AI Transformation Leader
Software provider Forterro has appointed Marco Metzlaff to the newly created role of AI Transformation Leader, strengthening the company-wide commitment to artificial intelligence (AI).
The appointment develops Forterro’s strategy to embed AI as a driver of customer-centric innovation. Metzlaff, who joins the company from IBM and has previously worked for Accenture and Novartis, will oversee the development and implementation of Forterro’s AI strategy, ensuring it delivers long-term benefits for customers and the business.
With more than 20 years of experience in transformation processes – particularly in ERP and technology consulting – Metzlaff has recently specialised in the practical application of AI. In his new role, he will coordinate operational measures, strengthen existing initiatives and ensure AI capabilities are embedded across Forterro’s industrial portfolio.
The hire builds on Forterro’s successful cloud transformation and reflects the growing importance of AI in manufacturing and industry. By integrating solutions such as Prodaso and other AI microservices into the MyForterro platform, customers are using AI-driven insights to provide transparency across business and production processes, identifying optimisation opportunities early and supporting informed, real-time decision-making. This helps manufacturers reduce downtime, improve quality and increase their productivity and competitiveness in the long term.
Marco Metzlaff, AI Transformation Leader, at Forterro, said:
"At Forterro, we want to take the next logical step in artificial intelligence – professionalising our expertise and focusing it on measurable customer impact. We have decades of experience working with industrial midmarket companies and our goal is to deliver industry-specific AI solutions that make a sustainable difference to those customers’ daily operations, from shop floor efficiency to strategic decision-making."
Marcus Pannier, President, Lines of Business, at Forterro, added:
"AI transformation is integral to our long-term strategy. By embedding AI at the highest organisational level, we are making it easier for our customers to advance their own digital development and AI capabilities. This underlines our position as a dedicated partner for mid-market manufacturers right across Europe."

BM Group The Consultancy has launched another exciting new digital platform, designed to make it easier for customers to manage and distribute digital resources.
The new flexible Resource Centre streamlines how customers share information, content and on-demand digital assets across their networks by putting everything into a secure, self-service, online hub.
Peter Lancaster, Project Lead at The Consultancy explained: “The Resource Centre is a smarter way to make key resources instantly accessible - whether that’s to trade partners, specifiers, or internal sales teams. It puts an end to email attachments, filesharing websites and lost files and replaces that with one fully branded, central space. It is simple to deploy, easy to use, and can be customised to suit almost any business model."
Like all of the new digital platforms from The Consultancy, the Resource Centre has been built for scalability and customisation, with virtually no limit on how much customers can securely share or in what format – from brochures, photos, videos and sales assets to technical documents. It can even be set up to send email notifications when news or updates are posted.
PDS Doorsets, for example, has a straightforward platform which allows commercial and public sector clients to access and download product documents and certifications.
Epwin Window Systems, meanwhile, has a more advanced version of the platform which has controlled customer, partner and staff access, with tailored content and a brand-specific user experience across multiple systems.
Peter Lancaster added: “The Resource Centre is ideal for component and systems suppliers, fabricators, trade counter networks and trade bodies and commercial organisations. It’s a great way for them to modernise the customer experience and add value to their networks while, at the same time, reducing their own admin.
“It has a fully branded front-end, advanced search and filter tools for fast, intuitive navigation, and the ability to request physical assets. It can be set up with user-level permissions and role-based content access, and comes with optional analytics, lead capture and CRM integration for marketing purposes as well.”
The Resource Centre is part of The Consultancy’s expanding suite of digital platforms which already includes BM TOUCH and the recently launched Find A Location function. More details are at: https://www.theconsultancy.co.uk/resource-centre/
